Meet Dr. Boss
Shawniece Boss, DPM, is a highly experienced podiatrist with the team at Cortez Foot & Ankle Specialists and sees patients at the practice’s offices in Bradenton and Ellenton, Florida. Dr. Boss is an enthusiastic and passionate person who is overjoyed to join the Cortez Foot and Ankle Specialists family. She is committed to applying all her training to help the communities of Sarasota and Manatee County and looks forward to working with patients and local health care providers to treat common foot and ankle disorders.
Dr. Boss is originally from a small town called Warren, Ohio. She graduated from Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, and then earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. While attending, she became very active in professional memberships and organizations and even held roles of leadership, including the title of National President of Student National Podiatric Medical Association. After obtaining her degree, she then completed an extensive four-year podiatric medical and surgical residency at Palmetto General Hospital in Miami, Florida, and New York-Presbyterian Queens in New York City. While there, she was exposed to multiple facets of podiatry, including elective forefoot and rearfoot surgery, trauma cases at a Level-1 Trauma Center, as well as office and clinical training.
Aside from her podiatric residency, Dr. Boss loves to continue improving her surgical skills and furthering her medical knowledge. She has attended many lectures and courses, including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgical conferences, Arthroscopy Skills Courses, Limb Deformity Courses with Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, and a mini-fellowship in Dermatopathology with Bako Laboratories.
When not helping others, you can find Dr. Boss reading on the beach, dancing, listening to music, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
We accept most Medicare PFFS plans. Although we may not participate with all insurance companies, we can still treat you if you are allowed out of network benefits. Network participation can change at any time, call your insurance provider to check network participation/benefits.
