Neuroma Treatment

Relieve Forefoot Pain and Restore Daily Comfort

If it feels like you're always stepping on a pebble, even when your shoe is empty, you may be dealing with a neuroma. At Cortez Foot & Ankle Specialists, we diagnose and treat neuromas with personalized care plans that reduce pain and inflammation in the ball of the foot, helping you walk comfortably again.

A neuroma, often referred to as Morton’s neuroma, is a thickened and irritated nerve located between the toes, usually between the third and fourth. This condition often develops from repetitive stress, poorly fitting shoes, high heels, flat feet, or inherited foot structure. Over time, the nerve becomes inflamed, leading to sharp pain, tingling, numbness, or a persistent sensation that something is in your shoe.

Treatment options include changing footwear, using orthotics, padding, corticosteroid injections, and anti-inflammatory medications. In more severe cases, surgery may be necessary to remove the affected nerve or release surrounding tissue to relieve pressure.

We welcome patients at our Bradenton, University Park, and Ellenton, Florida offices.
