Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis Treatment
Relieve Heel Pain and Regain Comfort with Expert Care
Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain, often making each step feel sharp and uncomfortable. At Cortez Foot & Ankle Specialists, we provide targeted treatment to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and support lasting recovery.

This condition occurs when the plantar fascia, the thick band of tissue connecting your heel to your toes, becomes inflamed due to stress or overuse. Pain is often most severe with your first steps in the morning or after periods of rest. While it may ease during activity, it often returns once you're off your feet.
Plantar fasciitis typically develops from repetitive strain and is more common in runners, individuals with high arches or tight calf muscles, and those who are overweight. Early intervention is key to avoiding long-term discomfort and limited mobility.
Treatment includes conservative care such as rest, stretching, ice massage, night splints, and supportive footwear. If symptoms persist, we may recommend custom orthotics, corticosteroid or stem cell injections, or in rare cases, surgery to release the tight tissue. Our goal is to restore your comfort and prevent further injury.
We treat patients at our Bradenton, University Park, and Ellenton, Florida offices.
